When the bodies of the two friends found hanging in Farrukhabad were brought to the village after postmortem, the angry family members started protesting alleging murder. They did not allow the bodies to be taken away. The family did not listen even after the SDM and CO Kaimganj tried to convince them. The DM and SP who arrived after two hours assured the family of taking action at every level. After that the family members cremated the bodies.
A young girl (18) and a teenager (17) from a village went to a temple to watch the Janmashtami program on Monday night. They returned home around 9 pm, after which they left again saying that they were going to their aunt’s house. The next morning, both the friends were found hanging from their own dupatta in a nearby mango orchard. The postmortem confirmed that both the friends died due to suffocation after hanging. The family members took the bodies to the village.
Sensing the situation, SP Alok Priyadarshi deployed CO Kaimganj Jai Singh Parihar, Inspector Ram Avatar and police from several police stations in the village. Chief Fire Officer Vijay Prakash was sent to the village with a fire engine on Tuesday night. On Wednesday morning, when the family members were asked to cremate the bodies, they started saying that relatives would come. Even after two hours, the family members did not agree for the last rites.
CO Jai Singh Parihar and SDM explained to them. The family reached the cremation ground with the bodies. They did not agree to light the pyres there. The family alleged that both the friends cannot commit suicide together by hanging themselves with a dupatta. On receiving the information, DM Dr. VK Singh and SP Alok Priyadarshi reached the cremation ground. They explained to the family and assured them of taking action after investigating all the aspects. After this, the family cremated the bodies.
